That's a real nice quarterback ya got there, be a shame if anything happened to him.

He seemed to have time to throw, but often no one was open? I'm not smart enough to know why or if it's receivers not getting open or bad routes options from the OC. What I do know is this. After the Hankins int (always love when a big man gets one :) ) the first play was a run for one yard. OK, no issue with running the ball there. Next we had a pass play that Geno ended up holding the ball for a very long time and then throws out of bounds. When they do the replay, so Olsen can stun us with his brilliance on why and where the pressure came from, I watch what our receivers are doing. Each one runs to a defender, stops and turns around. Huh. Next play is another pass. Geno has tons of time, but waits a split second too long to dump the ball and gets sacked. During Greg's moment to shine I again watch what the receivers are doing. Same thing, run to a defender, stop and turn around. Now I'm no offensive genius, and maybe that's often a good tactic, but it seems counter intuitive to me. When I see an opposing player they may run towards a defender, but always veer off and away from them. Often going over the middle for a god damned first down on 3rd and 11 .

What is up with that concept? I know we don't do it all the time, but why do we ever do it?
