Hawks offense rosters of 2024 has the same strength (skill positions) and weaknesses (OL) as 2023, but our boys has been playing with a lot less energy and inspired. Not every college OC can jump in to NFL and be successful, so far, Grubb hasn't shown that he could, and as an OL guru, I sure don't see our OL of 2024 playing any better than 2023. Maybe time to take that play calling duty from him?

It’s only been six games. It is too soon. That, plus our defense hasn’t necessarily been performing better.

While I think Grubb is overrated at times, I don’t think you can give up on him after 6 games. I think he’s better than Waldron but that’s a pretty low bar to step over.

He had 2 really bad games at the UW last year including the NC game where he flat out shit the bed. I guess my point is jury is still out on him.

Just as an aside, Purdy talked about how he and others had figured out MacDonald based on rewatching the 49ers loss to Baltimore last year. Purdy said straight out, same scheme different players.

Anyone who thought this staff would just come in and solve all the issues basically overnight were or are clueless. Give these guys time to work. Injuries and 3 games in 11 days hurt. The Giants loss was a painful one the other two were given with who they were playing.

True, but one has every reason not to expect mass regression.

I think the Hawks first 3 games were an anomaly. 3 weak opponents and the Hawks had very little tape of their tendencies. Plus key injuries hurt and showed the lack of depth.

New head coach as well. In the long run I think they’ll be fine , but there will be so growing pains.

Still don't think it's time for a new OC? or at least a new play caller?

I don't think it's a coaching issue, it's a talent issue. Teams like the Bills, 9ers, Lions have more talent. Our Oline is not that good. Sometimes they are almost OK, and they may get better as the year goes on, but they don't open holes and give Geno a clean pocket often enough. At our level you can't afford to make mistakes, and we made too many against the Giants, 9ers and Bills. Lions just beat us. And even if we didn't make those mistakes there's still a good chance we lose.

I am still hopeful we get 8 wins and I win my over bet, but it's looking shaky. That said we are tied for first place.

I think it’s a bit of coaching, play calling and a talent issue.
Sometimes I’m thinking Grubb is on top of things other times I’m like WTF was that.
New coaching staff trying to find their way. As painful as it is to watch there will be growing pains, hopefully they are temporary.
